I have a similair story, not involving star wars though. Recently I built a
shell for a Ferrari F40, no floor or underside, just two sides linking front
to back. For astetic reasons the sides were split into two sections and were
only conneted by 2 studs each. Given this inherant weakness, when I picked
it up to place it on my telly for safety it seemed sturdy enough. Then
crack, the whole vehicle split in two. SMASH, sections of ferrari went
everywhere. Instantly I had created the modular ferrari set with no
instructions for assembley, I'm glad to say the story has a happy ending and
I did manage to reconstruct the car. I've also done a lot more work on it,
it now has a floor and is now much sturdier.
