Well, recently I decided to create a new spaceship and vehicle for my two bounty-hunters, Aurrin Star and Hrn-Garr. The spaceship is still in the works (hopefully it won’t take too much longer. I want to enter it in the GBSLILAC, and that ends on the 13th), but the vehicle has been finished.

While bounty-hunters can hardly be called ‘civilians’, this craft does not contain any weapons and therefore can be classified as a ‘civilian vehicle’.

A former ambulance, the back of the van contains two stretchers which hold the patients in suspended animation until they can be transported to the closest hospital or bounty-hunter spacecraft. (You can see why this feature would appeal to a bounty-hunter. Comatose bounties are a lot easier to handle.) (The blurry gray thing in the corner of this photo is the strap of the camera - oops!) (Oh, and the reason I used two Spielbergs as the bounties? They were the closest minifigs I could get my hands on!)

More pictures can be found here, once the folder has been moderated.

I think you’re headed in a really good direction here, Matthew. The top 3/4 of the craft definately has the look of a contemporary civilian vehicle, and you’ve changed the bottom to go for the futuristic ‘hover’ look. The inclusion of the stretchers definately up the play value too.

For suggestions? Although you’ve put hover devices on the bottom, they might look a little too much like wheels...in this case, square wheels. Since this is the future, have some fun with the design and placement of the hoverpads. Put a whole row of them in (if you have the bricks, that is), or cluster them in the middle...or put one type at the front and one at the back. You get my drift...play with it and have some fun in your creativity.

Great to see you still building and make sure to keep posting and sharing!

Cheers, -Gil

PS. Refering by link back to an earlier post can be considered bumping by some folks. It’s kinda a thin, blurry line, but just a note of caution that doing it often can raise the ire of the board...let your own judgement be your guide.
