P-38 Contest entry: OR-38 SkipJack —John Henry Kruer
Here's a P-38 entry I dreamed up one night: (URL) OR-38>> Please let me know what you think! (URL) >> (21 years ago, 14-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: P-38 Contest entry: OR-38 SkipJack —Daniel Rubin
(...) snip (...) Hey, I really like this. I think this is my favorite of the p-38 entries that I've seen so far. -Dan (21 years ago, 14-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: P-38 Contest entry: OR-38 SkipJack —John Henry Kruer
(...) Thanks! It was a very... natural thing. The whole thing is instinctive- its fun to build that way and it produces good results. Meanwhile, I've uploaded new pictures with a black background instead of white. That's why the page has been down (...) (21 years ago, 14-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: P-38 Contest entry: OR-38 SkipJack —Paul Baulch
(...) I like it. I wasn't sure about the nose intake at first, but it's grown on me. It gives it quite a distinctive character. I also like the cockpit design, very unconventional. It'd also look great with a couple of insignia stickers on the wings (...) (21 years ago, 16-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: P-38 Contest entry: OR-38 SkipJack —John Henry Kruer
(...) Thanks! Yeah, one day I had that idea for the nose- it started when I remembered an idea from an old moc- the (URL) Skystreak>, which unfortunantly is not up ever since Ozbricks kicked out the .net sites- including my old one. Here's a pic of (...) (21 years ago, 16-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: P-38 Contest entry: OR-38 SkipJack —Allister McLaren
(...) mmmm. Smooth and white - one of my favourite looks. Nice one. Neat landing gear now I need to buy more telephones. Allister (21 years ago, 16-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

(...) Thanks! Yeah, those telophone parts are nifty. Never had any till I got the UCS Snowspeeder for Christmas... (URL) >> (21 years ago, 16-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: P-38 Contest entry: OR-38 SkipJack —Gil Shaw
(...) This hits all the hallmarks for me, John. Excellent clean and grouped colour scheme; nice use of angles (wings/engines) against the main body to break up the visual line; conservative and purposeful greeblings; economic element use. (...)          Re: P-38 Contest entry: OR-38 SkipJack —John Henry Kruer
(...) Thanks! Yeah, I tried to clump the color scheme- I don't use white much, but I thought this would be a perfect time to try a white/grey scheme. I also tried to get all the angles right too, I wanted this to work well. More excercise in snot... (...) (21 years ago, 16-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: P-38 Contest entry: OR-38 SkipJack —Sylvia Tresto
(...) It looks so nice and compact, JHK! I love the way you used white and snot. It almost looked like a Phil Painter (and that's praise!). One minor thing has been bugging me: that canopy piece just looks too blocky for this craft. The JSF or (...) (21 years ago, 17-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: P-38 Contest entry: OR-38 SkipJack —John Henry Kruer
I know that this thread is a month old... but I hate not responding to responses and now I have time to do it. (...) Thanks, Sylvia! Yeah, Phil Painter's (what happened to him, anyway?) stuff was pretty inspiring. Thanks for your critique on the (...) (21 years ago, 15-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: P-38 Contest entry: OR-38 SkipJack —Nathan Wells
(...) Wow, awesome! This is a great ship! The white looks really good and it has the spirit of the P-38. I really don't like the nose intake however, it distracts from the model. I also agree with Paul Baulch about the insignia, in places the wings (...) (21 years ago, 17-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: P-38 Contest entry: OR-38 SkipJack —John Henry Kruer
(...) All your points taken! Yeah, the wings do look a little plain. Maybe its time for me to start dabbling with sticckers. I could make a few Outer Rim logos or something... interesting idea. (...) Thanks! (URL) >> (21 years ago, 15-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: P-38 Contest entry: OR-38 SkipJack —Leonard Hoffman
(...) HOW DID I MISS THIS? a full eight hours of work, and I miss the latest fighter craft from one of my favorite builders! sheesh. anyways, a great fighter. -Lenny (21 years ago, 15-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: P-38 Contest entry: OR-38 SkipJack —John Henry Kruer
(...) Woah, there. Its possible- I've missed many great MOCs posted here that seem to be buried quickly by other threads. Oh, and brownie points to you for the 'one of my favorite builders' part, too! ;) (...) Thanks! You working on anything? Let's (...) (21 years ago, 15-Mar-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)
