(...) <tongue-in-cheek> I'm sure LEGOFan.net will be at least as scrupulous about clone bricks as LEGO Magazine is.... </tongue-in-cheek> Steve (22 years ago, 12-Feb-04, to lugnet.build, lugnet.castle, lugnet.general, lugnet.lego, lugnet.publish, lugnet.space, lugnet.starwars, lugnet.trains)

Re: LEGOFan.net - central community run hub for all areas of the LEGO community.

(...) SNIP (...) I'm not trying to be a wet towel, but I've always viewed LUGnet as the 'center portal' or 'hub' of the lego community--it functions as exactly that, AND a discussion site. Secondly, Lugnet already fits the "concept of a LEGO site (...)   Re: Billy Bob's Scarab, a buggy prospecting ship

(...) Good thing you didn't swat it- it isn't the sturdiest thing I've ever built! And as for the canopy, you got it under control too. Your hinging mechanism is similar to what I used on a racer that I hope to post soon. (2 URLs) AndroDan>> Tony (...) (22 years ago, 11-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Billy Bob's Scarab, a buggy prospecting ship

(...) Thanks- the bugginess would have been even better if the panels swung up and out, but that didn't work out. This was supposed to have wings inside there (kinda like a lady bug), but that too was a bit too tricky for me. (2 URLs) AndroDan>> (...) (22 years ago, 11-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Solara Hovercar MOC

(...) Broken- it looks like the BrickShelf gallery UI is down. Try these: (22 URLs) Cool- I love the venting- both on the sides with wings and the rear using ladders. The use of smooth panel (World City roof/hood) parts on the sides works well too. (...) (22 years ago, 11-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Starsky and Hutch hovercar

(...) Thanks everyone. I always admired how Travis included CAD models of many of his mocs. Nothing helps my appreciation of a model more than being able to see it from inside to out. Usually the cleverest building techniques are hidden from view. (...) (22 years ago, 11-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, lugnet.cad, lugnet.org.scibrick, FTX)

  Re: LL38 - P38 Lightning Contest Entry

(...) It's a funny thing about classic space. It's a fairly clunky style without any particularly cunning building techniques using fairly basic pieces, but it seems to be the one theme that is loved by everyone. Building this was a deliberate ploy (...) (22 years ago, 11-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: LL38 - P38 Lightning Contest Entry

(...) Thanks. I only built this because I was having a touch of builders block. When that happens, it's best to just start building something, and Classic Space, even after a 20 year dark age, is still something I can almost do blindfolded. Cheers, (...)   Re: LL38 - P38 Lightning Contest Entry

(...) Well, nothing in the rules says it has to be the same size as the real one. Nothing's stopping anyone from making a tri-fuselage capship. Besides, a typical singe seat space vehicle is by necessity going to be larger than an atmospheric craft. (...) (22 years ago, 11-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: LL38 - P38 Lightning Contest Entry

(...) I spent the longest time working on the landing gear - mostly because they were put in after the fuselage had been built, and I hadn't left enough room for them.   Re: LL38 - P38 Lightning Contest Entry

(...) Gosh, thanks. I haven't built anything for a few weeks (renovating the Lego room), so I started this just to get my eye in again, before tackling my 'real' entry. The cockpit uses typical classic space styling, and came together very quickly. (...) (22 years ago, 11-Feb-04, to lugnet.space, FTX)

LEGOFan.net - central community run hub for all areas of the LEGO community.

Hi everyone, For some time now, a group of us have been discussing the concept of a LEGO site that the community could truly call its own-- community owned, designed, and operated. To this end, we have been endeavoring for more than half a year to (...)
