FOR IMMEDIATE PRESS RELEASE  February 8, 2004:

PASADENA, CA--Jet Propulsion Laboratories

NASA JPL has confirmed the existence of Life on Mars by the Martian rover
Spirit.  Apparently, the martian were discovered during a recent scientific
experiment being conducted using Spirit's RAT (Rock Abrasion Tool).

During the experiment, Lego astrobot Biff Starling spotted some movement on the
horizon:

Biff, being the friendly surfer dude and Junkyard wars freak that he was,
couldn't resist meeting some new people--he hasn't seen another being in at
least a few months.  Making quick friends, he convinced a few of the local
Martians to pose with him for a picture:

After posing for a few pics, NASA told Biff that he had to "get back to work",
so Biff climbed back up on the rover, as Spirit started up and began to roll
away....  Unfortunately, due to some slow Martians, Biff and NASA very nearly
created an international incident when they forgot to take into account that
short legs=short distances when walking...

Fortunately, Biff was able to blame the whole thing on a mysterious individual
who just happened to appear...

Ever since hearing about the Mars rovers and having a special place for the
"Life on Mars" sets, it wasn't long until someone was going to combine the two
together...I did use up nearly every piece of orange brick I own (thank goodness
for pumpkin packs!)

Thanks to Chris Giddens for use of his digital camera (mine is currently out of
commission for an indefinite period of time).

If anybody thinks I should bring this to Brickfest PDX, please chime in!!

Bah!!! Here I am hopng for some real news (at the beginning I really thought
NASA discovered life on Mars) and when I read it, I find out that it's just a
Lego MOC. People, please, from now on when you have something like this, give
people a clue in the title!!! :P
