Hi Allister, thanks for your message.
I did want the legs to tuck inside the collars as much as possible but at the
same time I guess I liked the idea of something floating in that space (which
wound up to be those railing pieces) and gave privilege to one idea in detriment
of the other. I was just trying now and if I retire those railings the legs can
go in a bit more, not flush but perhaps enough to make a difference... Another
problem I had with them was that the ship is quite heavy and they would tend to
cede to the weight and open, so I had to make the feet longer to prevent that
movement and help fix the legs in position. Anyway, thanks again for your
