  Re: 3vil DropSkull

3vil-icious... ::looks through replies:: Good, Deering hasn't gotten to it yet. In that case, well played. Captain Krotzer, The Unknown Division (URL) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: SS-A Paladin

(...) Thanks, James! The vents in back are intended for cooling. With the hatch off you can see the fan unit. (heh, he said "unit.") Glad you like it! (2 URLs) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: SS-A Paladin

(...) Thanks for the comments Lindsay! The wings/engines have an eight-stud contact area on the side of the fuselage: four on the top row and four in the second row. There is no connection between the two halves. It would have been difficult to do (...) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Galaxy Defender - classic space MOC

Doug, great MOC! Hi swoosh factor, especially for such a large craft. At first glance, I thought it was just a small fighter craft, but then I realized that it's really quite large! Nice detailing work on the greeblies. I like the slightly angled (...) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: SS-A Paladin

(...) Sorry to hear that, Terry. Though I consider this to be a step up in "evolution" of the SS series, I'm still pretty attached to the original Paladin. I'm glad you can still appreciate it on it's own along others I've done. (2 URLs) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: SS-A Paladin

(...) Thanks, Daniel. I'm glad you like it! Heh, I don't know if I ever "pull off" color schemes. I'm a complete hack when it comes to color. But I'm glad this one appears to work. (2 URLs) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: SS-A Paladin

(...) Thanks for the suggestions and help with this one, Mark. Maybe the Paladin3 will have a landing gear. Or not. (2 URLs) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: SS-A Paladin

(...) Thanks for the comments, David. I'm happy to hear that my designs can influence others. I've learned tons from AFoLs, and it means a lot to hear that some can learn from me. (2 URLs) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: SS-A Paladin

(...) Thanks, Adrian. I'm glad you like it! I hadn't noticed the similarity to the Vipers. But now that someone points it out, I can see it. (2 URLs) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: SS-A Paladin

(...) Dear Gil, Believe it or not all my SW cannons are currently tied-up in my Serpentor Hover-Throne, which, I might add, does not have a landing gear. Next time I will include an annotated version of the fictional history. But I'm glad you like (...) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  ~NEW MOC~ "Xeon"

UD Tech(R) is proud to present the Xeon, the personal craft of Captain Krotzer. (URL) Sleek and stylish, the Xeon represents the latest in UD Tech(R) craftsmanship. Its superior speed and maneuverability are great whether engaged in combat (...) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Galaxy Defender - classic space MOC

Douglas (can we call you "Doug"?), Nicely done. I like the overall shape, and as you said, reminiscent of the old Testors "Stealth" model (I had forgotten about that until you mentioned it. Great first post. James Wilson Dallas, TX (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Short Range Bomber

(...) Now that's a lot of missles! You can never go wrong blanketing the enemy in missle fire. I love the compact form. I can just imagine a squadron of these things swarming over the enemy. Sean (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: Fish 'n Ship

(...) Thanks! Yeah, I've noticed my best work seems to be turning out that way too. Ah well, go with what you've got I guess! =P Sean (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.aquazone)

Galaxy Defender - classic space MOC

Hi, This is my first lugnet post though I have been lurking for awhile. I thought I would share a MOC I recently created. The Galaxy Defender is a Classic Space themed long endurance patrol/fighter craft. The general backstory is that this ship is a (...)   Re: SS-A Paladin

I like the 3/4 rear view - the stacked wedge plates under the tail fin give the appearance of flare or chaff dispensers, or some kind of cooling apparatus. Cockpit rocks, too. James Wilson Dallas, TX (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Short Range Bomber

(...) Heh. Tom, that's so, well, ugly. Elegantly ugly. And easily the best integration I've ever seen of the old Exploriens wing elements. I'm especially impressed by the posterior fuselage, with the mating of the 1/4 4x4x6 circle panel and the (...) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build)

  Re: 3vil DropSkull

  Re: SS-A Paladin

(...) [snip] Hey Phil, That's lovely. Mmmmmmm, SNOT. Having a very special place in my heart for SNOT construction, I especially like the wing and hull fairing mixture as seen in the ventral shots; I do want to ask, however, how you affixed those to (...) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: SS-A Paladin

(...) Well, I gotta tell you, I prefered by far the Paladin. It looked sleekier and it had more grace. The SSA Paladin is still a nice ship, but compared to some of your previous work, I'm disappointed. But that's just my opinion. I see many people (...)   Re: SS-A Paladin

(...) Wow, this thing is great! All the details just come together perfectly. I wish I could pull off a color scheme like this, hard to describe why, but it just seems right. The stand is a nice touch too. Daniel Rubin (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: 3vil DropSkull

Oh yeah, and your dropship rocks. I especially like the design of the gun on top of the skull. But it still won't help you. (2 URLs) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: 3vil DropSkull

(...) Lies! And after we kill your silly troopers we eat their brains and add their worthless carcasses to our undead army! (2 URLs) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Cool Space on Brickshelf

(...) I really like that. Does anyone know anything about the builder? In his (?) folder there's some other cool stuff, including this "space minivan" ((URL) some mecha. I searched on Lugnet for the name and came up empty. James Wilson Dallas, TX (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space)

  Re: Star Shrike Interceptor

(...) Hi Tom. This is my favorite of all your MOCs so far. It gives a feeing of speed and toughness. The looks certainly fit its purpose. Nice touch with the cards tile. I also saw the Little Red Pod and absolutely love it. I could just see hundreds (...) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: 3vil DropSkull

(...) Hey Mark. What can I say? I love everything about it! It certainly wets my appetite for Dropship Evilness. Your MOCs are so clever. Take care. David. (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: SS-A Paladin

(...) No, look... it has a rack! (URL) Nice rack. (snicker) Well done, Mr. Painter. The lower fins look better angled down. -Grand Admiral .space Curator (URL) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: SS-A Paladin

(...) What's up Phil? At first it looked to me like a predecessor to the Galactica MkII The Paladin is in a class of its own. As always your SNOT rules. I have been "influenced by you. You will notice that when I finish my DR02A Drop and Retrieval (...) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: 3vil DropSkull

  Re: 3vil DropSkull

(...) Now wait just a darn minute. That last item doesn't sound 3vil. I shall have to destroy you now. Your Lord and Master, 3GA (URL) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: SS-A Paladin

(...) Where's the landing gear? *hehe* Otherwise, a nice smooth design. Sort of reminds me of the Colonial Vipers from battlestar Galactica. I love the pilot's seat and the controls. Very nice. Adrian (URL) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: 3vil DropSkull

(...) Very nicely done. The skull looks fabulous! So, if PCS is the US and Eastern Bloc are the commies, who does 3Vil GA represent? The bad guy in a James Bond movie, I guess :) Adrian (URL) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: SS-A Paladin

(...) Gorgeous! The studless look comes off superbly. This looks almost part UCS, part system scale, especially with the detail-rich cockpit. The break apart view is excellent too....interesting to see how the SNOT came together. Despite it's lack (...) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

  Re: Short Range Bomber

(...) Great shape...never seen those wing/panel elements used like that before. They offer great recess area for the ordinance. Interesting SNOT solution to give ample room in the cockpit and still seal that miserable canopy as well. Cheers, -Gil (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: Little Red Pod

(...) This is neat, Tom. I never thought of those Futron-era angled panels as dish replacements...comes together so naturally with the windscreen. It almost has a PCS quality to it. Although with that colour scheme, I suppose it falls into the (...) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, lugnet.build, FTX)

  Re: Fish 'n Ship

  Re: 3vil DropSkull

(...) Gasp. That is amazing. You are cemented in as the pharoah of novelty-sized cranial transportation. The best quality of this is the 3 dimensional nature of th' sucka. I'm amazed you managed to fit all that copious detail into it. Dude. I'm (...) (22 years ago, 8-Dec-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)
