Re: Look at this a Super Star Destroyer !!! —James Wilson
(...) Arrgh! I was trying to think of the actor/character names, and couldn't get those initials. And I read all 3 of the "2001" series, too. Is 39 too young to start claiming senility as a defense? James (21 years ago, 28-Jul-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Look at this a Super Star Destroyer !!! —Bram Lambrecht

Re: Look at this a Super Star Destroyer !!! —David Koudys
(...) I love 'Childhoods End' and such, and July 2019 (the sci-fi 'fact' book about life a few years from now) is also pretty good. The last 2 books of the 2001 series were good, but, like Asimov, I found the final books 'wanting', for lack of a (...) (21 years ago, 28-Jul-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Look at this a Super Star Destroyer !!! —Mark Sandlin
(...) It looks like a grand effort. I don't understand, however, why someone would go to all that effort, yet not make it accurate? The SSD has an arrowhead shape from above, but from below, it's much more greebled, and the engines are sunk in (...) (21 years ago, 28-Jul-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Look at this a Super Star Destroyer !!! —Mike Petrucelli
(...) Could be that they made a non-standard SSD like the one in the opening cutscene for the Computer game Dark Forces 2: Jedi Knight. It is still not accurate to that ship but maybe it is accurate to another non-standard design. (...) Agreed. (...) (21 years ago, 28-Jul-03, to lugnet.space, FTX)

Re: Look at this a Super Star Destroyer !!! —David Laswell
(...) Going by stud count on the "flat" sections of the hull, it looks to be about 4 feet long. According to exhaustive calculations detailed on TheForce.Net, the real thing is supposed to be eleven miles long, which would make this one (...) (21 years ago, 29-Jul-03, to lugnet.space)
