Well, actually, IGOR-3 and IGOR-4.
Eastern Block Cosmos Directorate, Office of the Junior Marshal would like to
announce the success of its IGOR program. “IGOR” stands of Inferential General
Operations Robot, and was designed as a general purpose assistant onboard the
Jr.Marshal’s new line of Kalashnikov Class Assault Frigates.
The Jr. Marshal first commanded this project when he saw the success of the IVAN
project. The first IGOR was modelled closely after the IVAN, but perhaps too
closely. During test runs of landing on a planet, the IGOR-1 rampantly killed
all cattle in sight. The IGOR-2 removed this ‘cow killing’ tendency, but
replaced it with a people killing one. Thus the IGOR-3 was built.
To aid it in spaceship life, the IGOR-3 was fitted with wheels to give it
greater stability and maneuverability onboard the small ship. The cousin robot,
the IGOR-4 carries standard legs for on-planet traversing. An IGOR-5 is
currently under works that would have interchangable legs, allowing for greater
usability.
