Hi all!
Yesterday I was browsing my local KB Toys when I stumbled upon some dirt cheap
LEGO mismatched among the lowly clones. I took one look at the sets and went to
get a basket, a large basket. When I walked out of the store I was grinning
like an idiot, carrying 14 new sets, some in multiples.
Here are the great deals I got:
3 for $5, I bought six!
3 for $10, got three.
$5.99 each, got two.
$6.99 each, got one.
$4.99 each, got one.
$9.99 each, got one.
I got them for pieces, but I went ahead and built them for the heck of it.
Heres what I thought of them:
The Model
Neat! The model is crisp, clean and streamlined. Its very swooshable and
very brown (which is a good thing). The model looks just like its counterpart
in the movie, and its even convertible! The model is very sturdy except for
the long brown wedges.
The Parts
The parts are great, and everything is reusable in both space and castle. The
parts that caught my eye were the brown
wedges, printed tiles, and
brackets.
Minifigs
None.
Playability
By itself, theres not much you can do with this, but there would be quite a dog
fight pitted against the Naboo Fighter.
Gripes
A neutral minifig, like a mechanic, would have been nice.
Conclusion
A great set! Worth full retail, but double sweet in discount! Dont understand
why there were still about thirty at KB Toys.

The Model
Ugh. Not award winning, this one.
The Parts
Parts? What parts? Oh, you mean that arch and railings?
Minifigs
The Imperial Officer is just sweet, and seems to be very happy being employed
by an evil maniac. The Stormtrooper is also cool, but not very reusable. Im
up to to my armpits in Lukes, though.
Playability
None whatsoever, unless Luke gets hold of his lightsaber and chops this set into
its 23 component parts.
Gripes
Too small, horrible price, no playability whatsoever, and no rebuild value.
Conclusion
Only good for minifigs. Only get it on discount.

The Model
I like it; two gungans, two kaduus, and a cart full of explosives. What more
could you ask for?
The Parts
There is a wide selection of pieces in this set, and nearly all of them are very
usable. Piece I thought were cool were the
tan radar dishes (now I can make some
pods!), all the piping, and the
purple shield. There are also some
normal bricks in tan and brown.
Minifigs
Quite honestly, I dont mind Jar Jar (dont shoot me!). His torso is great
for peasants and even his head can be used for some sort of lizard-man. The
Gungan Soldier is extremely cool, his
torso rocks! Its so neutral that my
sister is using it for elf garb, and Im using it for a bounty hunter.
Playability
These guys will have to plod around until I can buy some
MTTs and AATs. Of course, they could battle my fleet of six droid fighters.
Gripes
The Giant Orange Plucked Chickens (kaduus to you Star Wars nuts) are extremely
stiff, probably from pulling that cart.
Conclusion
A cool set! Even better at half price!

The Model
Awesome! Sleek, fast-looking, and very, very red! I love the new slopes and
the model wouldnt look right without them. There are also no hidden colors!
The Parts
Red, red, red. And a bit of dark grey. The
slopes and
panels are the highlight of this set!
Minifigs
Lobot is a very cool fig! His head looks good and the double printing works
great.
Playability
Lobot can fly around and around and around waiting to catch stray
Millennium Falcons.
Gripes
None that I can think of!
Conclusion
Sweet! Sweet! Sweet! Worth it at full price, even better discount!

The Model
Very cool, both Mary Jane and the Green Goblin look great, and the Goblin Glider
rocks!
The Parts
Cool pieces in this set are: palm tree
tops, printed slopes, and
trans-orange minifig heads.
Minifigs
Mary-Jane is super! Everything about her, dark red clothes, orange hair, cute
face, is great! The Green Goblin is cool to, but a bit un-reusable.
Playability
Actually, there is a lot of playability in this small set, with Mary Jane hiding
behind lamp poles while the Green Goblin hurtles pumpkin bombs at her.
Gripes
The Glider looks a little large.
Conclusion
Cool! Great for your own Spider-Man adventures!

The Model
Mediocre; the dinos and figs are cool, building a bit daft.
The Parts
Dino tails (gotta luv them!),
leaves,
clear revolving doors, and the
canopy rock!
Minifigs
Believe it or not, this is my first set with Johnny Thunder in it! He is just
plain awesome! Pippin Reed is cool to, but the Cameraman seems out of place
(yes, I know its LEGO Studios!).
Playability
There are tons of playability in this set! You dont know how much fun it is to
whack off a Raptors head with a spear until youve tried it!
Gripes
The dinos heads tend to fall off, and the building feels a little bare. I
think it should have some computer panels or something.
Conclusion
Nice set, but better to buy it at half price.
