Hi,
I want to thank you all for the (extremely positive) comments on these ships,
didn't expect you'd like them that much.
Since I've got some mails asking about the background-history of these ships:
here is some ...
I got the blockade runner for my birthday (see my brickshelf for pictures
related to this story:
http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=diddesen) and started to build
along the concept of timeships (startrek Voyager "year of hell" was an
inspiration) with huge "arms" in front this resulted in in several ships. I
only have pictures of the last one (capship1).
With Xmas i got a star destroyer (*isn't this nice*) from my girlfriend. Using
technic beams with lateral details as in the ISD and combining it with the
ideas of "arms" i constructed capship2. The last ship in the series originated
from 2 ideas: one a cargo vessel with "pods" using magnets of the ISD and a
city on board to show how large the ship ought to be. The difficult part was
getting some stability, it is a heavy ship, in fact the whole upper part would
fall apart if it wasn't for the technic piece at the back.
Finally some one asked if there was a story behind it ... i never really
thought about it, but here is some:
hmm ... story? what about this:
one a race has attained a certain level of evolution they are admitted into an
alliance of advanced races, which lives in a parallell "time-less" universe,
they travel and colonize time-space using HUGE lego ships!
of course, as an advanced peacefull coalition, no weapons are needed! Although
every ship has every possible technology: broadrange EM emmites, cloacking
shield, transporters, wormhole projectors, anti-time particle emmiters,
hyperdrives, warp drives, etc ...
:-)
to do next:
-since the "arm" are 1 piece height is should be possible to try making a ship
with an interior (*I wanna try this, please dont steal the idea ;-) *)
-for now i try a piramid ship as in stargate, this is hard!!
read you later and again many thanks,
Didier Deses
