First MOC posting - Blacktron Base

As a long time lurker who has finally entered the 21st century (at least enough to post a MOC anyway), greetings to all. Inspired by the mini-SW sets and the Moonbase Project, I present a quarter-scale Blacktron mining base (with bonus message (...) (...) me are all of the micro sets you've built. I dig the Flock of Robins. Not sure- but I think I ran across the captain at a moonbase saloon. I overheard him say he was going to run- run so far away. And that he just had- had to get away. (...) (22 years ago, 8-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: First MOC posting - Blacktron Base

Thanks Felix. I love working in microscale - you can have a whole fleet in your pocket. This is only the beginning for the Flock of Robins. The story of this ship has been floating around in my head for a while now. Scott (...) (22 years ago, 9-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: First MOC posting - Blacktron Base

(...) And not only inspiering, it's a fine base also! Looks like it could work. Tons of fun playing around with that one, I can imagine. (...) Hey! Look at that! The mini Spiff craft and pod made me laugh :) My only complaint would be the trans neon (...) (22 years ago, 9-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: First MOC posting - Blacktron Base

Beautiful. I really like the recognizable ships/vehicles from different lines. But what is the smiley-go-lucky crew of the classic Explorer doing as a regular customer of a Blacktron base? Shady, I tell you. Shady. (22 years ago, 9-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: First MOC posting - Blacktron Base

I really like the base, but the thing that really impressed me were all the mini versions of classic ships. My favorite may be the Star Hawk. A much under-rated ship might I add. Superb work. You sir are a steely eyed minimoc man. Welcome to space. (...) (22 years ago, 9-May-03, to lugnet.space)

(...) capabilities). (...) Wow. That is really cool. I really like the Space Police 1 themed stuff. I am surprized no one mentioned that yet. -Mike Petrucelli (22 years ago, 9-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: First MOC posting - Blacktron Base

With the quality of the mini stuff coming out like this, it's definately turning around my thoughts on the scale. Nice Stuff Scott....and welcome! Cheers, -G (...) (22 years ago, 9-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: First MOC posting - Blacktron Base

Thanks Tobbe. All this microscale is definitely fun to play with - especially when you can include some of the .space running jokes. And yeah, I only had a couple of little trans-yellow plates - the Blacktron vehicles got them first. It's on my list (...) (22 years ago, 9-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: First MOC posting - Blacktron Base

(...) Thanks. Keeping things recognizable at this scale is tough. The Galactic Peace Keeper is barely more than a 1x6 plate... (...) Everybody wants something...and Blacktron is always monitoring everyone. Come on by, I'm sure they can get you what (...) (22 years ago, 9-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: First MOC posting - Blacktron Base

Thanks Admiral. The Star Hawk II is a nice shape that reads well at this scale - although deciding how to do the tail was a pain. The piece doesn't exist to get it just right... Scott (...) (22 years ago, 9-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: First MOC posting - Blacktron Base

Thanks Mike. SP1 and Blacktron go hand-in-hand. What fun is life without an arch-nemesis? Scott (...) (22 years ago, 9-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: First MOC posting - Blacktron Base

Thanks Gil, I'm happy to be here. Mini stuff is cool, has a low piece count, and is lots of fun to play with. Not tha I'm giving up on minifigs - see my Blacktron Desperado Zeta in a forthcoming post... Scott (...) (22 years ago, 9-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: First MOC posting - Blacktron Base

Wow. My first MOC and I've gotten lots of great responses - and I've made the sidebar MOC picture! Woo-hoo! I'm especially flattered that I got picked to go after the minifig sculpture. That thing is beautiful - I wouldn't have minded if it stayed (...) (22 years ago, 9-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: First MOC posting - Blacktron Base

Oh, yes. Very fine. You've really captured the essence of microfig scale in this MOC- everything is done so well, with the typical whatsit micro-greeblies done really well. You modeled the shapes well, which is often the hardest thing. Eveything (...) (22 years ago, 10-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: First MOC posting - Blacktron Base

Cool! I really like all the different mini versions of Lego space sets (the Deep Freeze Defender is especially nice). You're off to a good start. --Dan (22 years ago, 10-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: First MOC posting - Blacktron Base

That is way too cool, Scott. The variety of buildings, the vastness of it, the different CS themes, the possibilities! Great Job! -Bruce LEGO @ Bruce's Homepage - (URL) (22 years ago, 10-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: First MOC posting - Blacktron Base

(...) <> (...) Scott, This base is great! I particularly like the "blackshield" design--that gold becomes very dark there. ;^) As the others have said, you have captured the shapes of a variety of ships from a variety of themes. I agree with Admiral (...) (22 years ago, 11-May-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: First MOC posting - Blacktron Base

Very cool. I'm really impressed with your overall Blacktron work (although I'm more of a classic space nut :). Any chance you'd make a minifig scale version (instead of a stickfig scale)? -Anne (...) leave your lover, but there are >.~.\ `` ` `,`,`. (...) (22 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.space)
