It's called picture resolution, or how many pixels there are in the image,
more pixels meaning a larger image.  Most pictures online are set at '640 X
480' resolution, which fit most screens.  Your camera does larger
resolutions which are larger sizes, there should be an option on the camera
or scanner that allows you to change resolutions, choose the 640 by 480 one.
Check your camera menu, it should have an option.

You can also use image editing programs to reduce image size, although to
get a good resizer you have to pay money for a good program.

Yeah, what he said.

I use Photoshop.

However, there should be some shareware or freeware apps out there that allow
you to resize pics.
