  Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

new MOC @ (URL) always LMKWYT thx much -paul (21 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

(...) Paul, I dig the fact that it has some unusual features and building techniques... I dig more their inherency to the model. Rotating cockpits are a fun feature to play with. It would be interesting to see a building concept like that become a (...) (21 years ago, 21-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

(...) I'll tell ya what I think... cool man. You are the master of cool shape and function! Your bringing this to brickfest... and yes you are coming to brickfest. Rotating seat, excellent. Teeny tiny landing gear... dude! Colors, awesome. Good to (...) (21 years ago, 22-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

(...) I pretty much agree here. But, Paul, I think it would be better if the cockpit was up in the rear. ;-P. --Kyle (URL) (21 years ago, 22-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

a new level of snot, a truly 3D design.. what i love about this MOC is how realistic i think it is. this is what i think space travel will actually be like- the ship seems made to operate in an entirely 3D world, where there is no "up" or "down." (...) (21 years ago, 22-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

Very good non-traditional building here. I will takes notes. The tension of the hoses and the SNOT galore amazes me. This must have taken a while. out (...) (21 years ago, 23-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

Niiice. Gives me the warm fuzzies all over. The SNOT, the features, it's a masterpiece. BTW, have you seen an anime called Outlaw Star? This bad @$$ little craft is strangely reminiscent of that show's art style. Take care, Soren (21 years ago, 23-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

(...) I found this one on Brickshelf, not by announcement. It intrigued me, especially the 4x4 red transparent radar dish...and what lies beneath? I guess it's just the engine, but still...nice touch. I like the details and the unorthodox building, (...) (21 years ago, 23-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

This is a wild number Paul...the shape is just boffo, to say nothing of it's mulitple operational planes. This is classic Hartzog and it's great to see it again. Cheers, -G (...) (21 years ago, 23-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

(...) thx. i actually had those things attached by studs at one time using hinges but i didn't like it so i put it the way i wanted it and then tried to figure out how to attach it (i couldn't) and that's how I came up with the tension cables. (...) (21 years ago, 23-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

(...) heh, thx. i have less $ this year than last year, so BFest is not very likely at the present :-( (...) thx, man, i'll post a good post on your hopcraft today too -paul (21 years ago, 23-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

(...) thx. i try :-) (...) thx again (...) ah, much thx. i'm really glad to know that something i've done is 'inspiring' to others, and its always nice to know that people read those articles. i've got more, i just haven't done them yet. maybe (...) (21 years ago, 23-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

(...) thx much. the SNOT is kind of second nature now for me, but small ships are like short stories you can have lots of crap in a novel but w/ a short story every word counts. for small ships every piece counts. those 1/2 plate steps on the ship (...) (21 years ago, 23-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

VERY nice, Paul. Glad to see another schizophrenic ship to join the gang! :) But seriously... this is a very nice MOC. I always like innovative cockpits, and this is a really good one. The dual LOM canopies compined the wedges on the side make for a (...) (21 years ago, 24-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

(...) thx much for the comments (warm fuzzies?) outlaw star? dunno got a url? i'll take a look... -paul (21 years ago, 24-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

(...) ja, thats just the engine (...) thx (...) if you go to (URL) view the pictures w/ the captions and explanation you will see why the chair rotates :-) -paul (21 years ago, 24-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

(...) thx. classic Zog? j0n said it looked like something I would build, too. i guess i must be developing some kind of "style" hmm... -paul (21 years ago, 24-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

(...) thx. the LOM canopies have always frustrated me for their uselessness. i feel like i'm not smart enough when a piece challenges me like that. so i got determined to make something out of them ever since i saw that ship that used 3 of them on (...) (21 years ago, 24-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

(...) ooh! i was afraid it would be just those. can't wait to read more! coming from someone who really isn't all that good at lego creations (im feeling a realist tonight - somehow my 'wild' abandon of creativity when i was young vanished (...) (21 years ago, 24-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

Like it even more now that DSL allows a shuttling back and forth between shots, Paul. A question tho'....were are the printed canisters that make up the engines from? They look great and I can't seem to place them... Cheers, -G (...) (21 years ago, 24-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

glad you asked... i HATE putting stickers on that overlap more than one piece so when i got the big collectors x-wing i had to find a place for the stickers that came w/ that set. those gray canisters are just normal grey half cylinders w/ some (...) (21 years ago, 24-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

(...) Sorry. It's the feeling you get while looking at something extremely cool. It's kinda warm and fuzzy. (...) There aren't really any good sites for this one, but you could try www.outlawstar.org. I don't know if it's still active. Take care, (...) (21 years ago, 24-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)

Re: Et In Arcadia Lego: DiAxis

(...) Paul, Wow, I'm speechless... this one's gonna be one of those that I'm going to need to study. Incredible SNOT-tiness, and I love that it has a feel for true 3-d space in it's different configs. Your detailing is great, and inspiring. I hope (...) (21 years ago, 26-Jan-03, to lugnet.space)
