Alien Fighter+a variation on a theme by Jon Palmer —John Henry Kruer
Hello, all. I've made an alien fighter: (URL) Dave's Freighter, a model that is inspired by Jon Palmer's Bison MOC (that is truley one the best MOCs ever, IMO) (URL) might make web pages for them later. PLMKWYT, and don't be afraid to criticize. (...) (22 years ago, 29-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) exterior. The little details are good, especially the barrels and the tree stump on the dish. The interior is great, too. I like the bathroom's curtain. (...) -Andrew (22 years ago, 29-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) Thanks! I always like weird shapes and weird colors, and the tri-wing design is hard to make stable. I finally pulled it through in this MOC. (...) Glad you liked it. I got a bit crazy with the palm trees and barrels! :) The interior was (...) (22 years ago, 29-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Your model has so many interesting details to list. One thing I especially like is your (...) (22 years ago, 29-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Alien Fighter+a variation on a theme by Jon Palmer —John P. Henderson
PS In a reference in my previous post, I did not mean to exclude any Canadian brethren when I mentioned the Great Lakes. Clearly Canada is equally a part of the shipping and commerce of that region. I honestly don't know what I was thinking when I (...) (22 years ago, 29-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Alien Fighter+a variation on a theme by Jon Palmer —John Henry Kruer
(...) Yeah, I think they must of been a sort of unconscious inspiration, after the Bison. I've always thought of present-day ships and vehicles for inspiration when I build. (...) Well, I took a palm tree apart for some thrusters for the engine (...) (22 years ago, 29-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

In lugnet.space, John Henry Kruer writes:> (...) Yes that works too. I can see how the Nightshadow might just be freight, like ships of today carrying autos overseas. :) (...) Hmm. That sounds interesting. I honestly hadn't looked into the details (...) (22 years ago, 29-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) colors thrown in on some mocs these days, but the colors seem to work well on this model. (I tend to prefer consistant blocks of color that work together...). Now you need to make more cargo thingys for it to carry. --Kyle (URL) (22 years ago, 29-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Alien Fighter+a variation on a theme by Jon Palmer —John Henry Kruer
(...) Glad you liked it, Kyle. In my next MOC (ISD-spurred) I plan to use color blocking, Mladalen-style. But I'm glad the colors worked well. Though, since it is supposed to be 'junky,' it could be excused even if it didn't work. (...) Working on (...) (22 years ago, 29-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) It looks MUCH better with a SNOT plate going along the front of the jagged wings, but I didn't have enough brown to do it, and no other color looked right. :-/ (...) Thanks! Believe me, get the Sopwith. It has some great brown plates in it, (...) (22 years ago, 31-Dec-02, to lugnet.space)
