Chewie got bored...took apart his AT-ST and built a podracer...still can't
beat Anakin though.

And on the subject: how many people build alternate models of sets?  I
realize that taking your entire collection and creating something original
without constraint is more fun for most but for those who have limited
sets...isn't that what Lego is partially about?  That even with a very
limited number of pieces, one can always build many different things?

It can be a lot of fun to try and confine yourself to the parts in one set
(preferable a smaller one, otherwise there isn't much challenge).  It's a
good learning experience too - you are forced to use pieces in new and
different ways.  I ended up using ice planet skis for double-jointed hinges
when I built my blizzard barron alternate, the Frost Fly.  I also used
individual studs on plates as hinges for the wings and the elbow joints.

Keep up the great alt'ing - it's a fun way to learn to think outside the
brick!  (box, that is ;)
