Whose is *this* little dandy? —Lindsay Frederick Braun
Hi, While browsing Brickshelf files, I came across the following in Ahui's 2002 image bank: (URL) Whose is this? Someone's a Homeworld fan! I really like the execution on this model--I noticed it was in the neighborhood of Mark's contingent, but it (...) (23 years ago, 20-Feb-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Whose is *this* little dandy? —Paul Baulch
(...) contingent, (...) Yeah, and tell us whether the wings move, and other details! I haven't seen such a fascinatingly wonky-looking ship for quite some time. Was this ship actually in Homeworld? I don't remember seeing anything so (...) (23 years ago, 20-Feb-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Whose is *this* little dandy? —Mark Rideout
(...) Oh - The wings do not move except for the bottom ones, which do rotate up to be completely horizontal -- this is to provide clearance for landing. I don't know if the Taiidan Interceptor in Homeworld is designed to rotate it's wings though. (...) (23 years ago, 20-Feb-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: Whose is *this* little dandy? —Jon Palmer
Just a wild guess but I was thinking it looked like Mark Rideout's work. The construction reminds me of this ship: (URL) The Galactic Shipyard - (URL) My Lego Creations - (URL) Attack of the Bricks - (URL) L F Braun" <braunli1@pilot.msu.edu> wrote (...)         Re: Whose is *this* little dandy? —Mark Rideout
(...) Yup as Jon correctly mentions, this is my MOC, although it is a different ship than the one he links to. This is based upon the Taiidan Interceptor ship and yup - I'm a Homeworld fan! I have some tweaks left to do now that I'm back from BW (...) (23 years ago, 20-Feb-02, to lugnet.space)

(...) To add to that - Mark Papenfuss has some good shots of it here (middle of page): (URL) (#2) (23 years ago, 20-Feb-02, to lugnet.space)

        The Sandlin Stamp —Mark Sandlin
(...) Haha. Once upon a time, someone called a MOC "Sandlinesque." What is it... is it the amount of greeblies? We were noticing each others' styles in our SEALUG meetings, so we had a contest for one of our meetings where the challenge was to build (...) (23 years ago, 21-Feb-02, to lugnet.space)

     i believe i coined 'sandlinesque' ;-) but to be honest i couldn't explain it.... -paul (...) (23 years ago, 21-Feb-02, to lugnet.space)

The Rideout Stamp (was: The Sandlin Stamp) —Tony Hafner
(...) Yes, and Mark Rideout's style is very distinctive as well- the Homeworld ship definitely has his stamp all over it. Primarily, it shows in the slopes-on-hinges technique on a large scale as used to shape the top edges of the "neck". I was (...) (23 years ago, 21-Feb-02, to lugnet.space)

Re: The Rideout Stamp (was: The Sandlin Stamp) —Mark Rideout
(...) I'm glad you can figure out what my style is -- 'cause I can't! I have asked myself "what is 'my style'" in the past month, in getting ready for BrickWest, and couldn't come up with anything. It will be fun to see what style my next creation (...)         Re: The Rideout Stamp (was: The Sandlin Stamp) —Mark Sandlin
(...) Oh I don't think it's something you can consciously try to create. I think that we each have our own mental image of how bricks work together, and that translates into our MOCs. At least, that's my own theory. :^) ~GAMH (23 years ago, 21-Feb-02, to lugnet.space)
