Here's what I came up with:

I even work in a rotating cannon. That was a last minute change. It
would be nice if the wheel pieces were red, but I don't think they're
available in that color.
I'm including a link to a ship database for Wing Commander (games and

| I only have one of those wheel pieces, unfortunately... but it IS red. hmm... that's a clever nose deign, but I'm not sure it wouldn't throw off the "lines" of the fighter (if something likes this can be said to have "lines"). I'll have to take a (...) (23 years ago, 3-Feb-02, to lugnet.build, lugnet.space)
