Ye gods!

I don't look in this group for a week after complimenting Joel Kuester on
his hoverbike and the whole place is fulla' them!

That's what happens when a contest is annouced.

True enough.

Hehe, I could've come up with another one last night, but decided I'd rather
lay around and watch my Cleveland Indians beat up on the Minnesota Twins :)

That was pretty, wasn't it? I'm just waiting for Seattle and Cleveland to
meet up in the AL Championships and for Seattle to choke per usual -- after
breaking the record for most wins/season of course so everyone expects them
to take the World Series. *sigh* That's Seattle for ya, pick a sport..any
sport. :) (fut off-topic.fun for this one <G>)

Anyway... Here's my humble attempt:

http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=6267

The Ferrari x3-TurboFan hoverbike.  The ducted fans are mounted on flexible
"arms" that allow them to adjust for optimal performance. The arms provide
the fuel and electrical lines to each of the three engines. It comes
complete with leather seats, stereo, auto pilot, windscreen projected
Heads-Up Display - and a luggage compartment so your Gucci attache' case
doesn't get exposed to the elements.

That's pretty neat.  Nice use of those red windows as intake vents, and of
course I like the wheels as hoverjets (I used that technique on my Raptor)

No puns from me though, sorry :)

Thanks Adrian -- The idea started with the wheels for the jets last week and
then it was a matter of deciding how best to attach them to some form of
frame. I would have liked to have gone with a more "bike" style frame like
Paul Hartzog's Butt-Buster (Who ya gonna call??) and others, but decided to
take a more "sports car" type of approach after staring at the Shell Promo
sets sitting on my shelf and the Ferrari sports car that came with them.

Not sure it worked as .well. as I'd have liked but eh... it's my first
attempt. I might try again. :)
