Question for MISB owners (or recent) of 6824

G'day folks,
I just had a "sealed" Classic Space 6824 arrive from an
auction win. I noticed that the box ends weren't glued up
like today's boxes. Instead there were just "locking"
tabs on the flaps. Since there was no "seal" to be broken
to damage the box, I opened it to build the set (I collect
sets to build, not to sit in MISB boxes). Anyhow, inside
was a pile of loose mint pieces, but no printed material!
Neither instruction nor inserts!
However all of the pieces are "original", meaning somebody
didn't just have a box in good condition, and fill it up
with modern pieces to make the set. The minifig head is
solid stud; the transparent 1x1 round plates come attached
in twos on a sprue; the 1x1 plates with vertical claw are
old school; etc.
It seems somebody opened the box and removed all of the
printed matter (or it wasn't packed properly by TLC in the
first place). But if the seller believed the box to be
sealed and thus never tried to open it, they wouldn't know
anything was missing. But yet buyer's bid on it with the
knowledge that it is a "sealed" set. I paid $22 for the
set---what would be printed materials be worth? Anybody
got any suggestions how to handle this with the seller?
Also, are these easily-openable tab-style boxes pretty
common for Classic Space (or other sets)? I've never seen
one that wasn't glued and needed to be ripped open.
