Re: Wings [was: Re: Building big]

(...) There are no retro rockets used in an Apollo re-entry to Earth. Only the heat of friction and the parachutes slow the ship down from orbital speeds to the slow speed required for a safe splashdown. (...) If there was such a laboratory it would (...)   Re: Building big

There are plenty on brickbay: (URL) link might not work, so if it doesn't search for: "Brick, Round 2 x 2 x 2 with Fins " THE space logo is the little planet with the 'ring' around it. The ice planet log is the same thing, but with snow on the (...) (24 years ago, 19-Jun-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Space Idea - Artificial Gravity

(...) Oh, I see now... very cool! It'll be tricky to make it "airtight" but I hope you can manage it. Keep it up! --Bill. (24 years ago, 19-Jun-01, to lugnet.space)

(...) It's more complicated than that. The rocket was a several-stage affair; the first few stages would drop off and burn up as you head up through the atmosphere; by the time you reach orbit only a small amount of rocket is left. The Lunar Module (...) (24 years ago, 19-Jun-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.loc.au)

Re: Ship Building Weekend at Scott Sanburn's - Trevor Pruden and Tim Courtney in Attendance

Jesse & All, (...) Thanks. I have no idea how many plates and bricks, but let's say several hundred right now, maybe a coupe thousand so far, in the incomplete phase. Tim Courtney uses a multilayer plate technique to form the base of the ship, and (...) (24 years ago, 19-Jun-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.org.us.michlug)

Re: Wings [was: Re: Building big]

(...) Dave, you are correct in observing a small mistake concerning the rockets. There were parachutes that helped the rockets land in the ocean but even so, in a unique way, the parachute acted not only with but against the retro rockets because (...) (...) The second piece is exactly what I need for my Gaea Federation Galaxy Destroyer. I need two of those pieces, preferrably the same color. Thank you for knowing what I needed for my space craft. (24 years ago, 19-Jun-01, to lugnet.space, lugnet.loc.au)

(...) I like your space craft. How many Lego bricks and plates did you use in the space craft? Is "Naked Space" one of those motion pictures that the Mystery Science Theater 3000 people forget to watch in their vault or is it something worse than (...)
