This is a great idea, Ralph.  I've wanted to just fool around in pbForth,
but have been intimidated by the apparent front-end learning curve.  I'm a
mechanical guy, I don't do TclTk, Gnu, etc.,  I've been spoiled by GUI
front ends and install programs.

So, at the risk of seeming completely numb:  How do you use it?  I've got a
dual boot machine and I prefer to run NT 4.0, but I've got Win95 on another
partition.  I've downloaded and extracted your files and the TclTk self
extracting binaries.  I can't find any reference in technet to the "giveio"
driver you mentioned on your web page, nor do I see it installed on my
system.

Do I need to run Tcl, and then open your scripting files?  The only one
that opens (by itself) into anything other than a gray box is Rcxtk.tcl.
Am I missing a prerequisite bit of knowledge??

Just for fun, I'll try to play around in 95 also.

On a different note, I just stopped using my WinCE machine, and got a
Handspring Visor (Palm Clone).  I put the Quartus Forth on it, and I've
been fooling around there.  Any luck or thoughts about using the ir port
for direct Rcx control?  From my reading of the user groups, it clearly
requires some very low level coding on the Palm.  Just curious.....

I'd like to announce the availability of an early trial version
of a GUI for pbForth. It's written in TclTk, a free scripting
language, but that's transparent to the user.

<http://www.hempeldesigngroup.com/lego/pbFORTH/pbForthGUI.html>

The GUI runs under Windows and Linux, and as soon as I can find
a serial driver that works for the Mac, it will be supported
too.!
Here's what you get:

- Fast and standard speed firmware upload
- Script upload with comment stripping
- XMODEM image download
- Console
