Hi scott...
unforunatly, i cannot get the lugnet listserver let me post to the list,
so if anybody else is interested, you will have to forward this mail to
the list =)
anyways, i am the happy owner of a palm5mx.. it does in fact have both
java and a serial port.. the java is a jdk1.6, which can easely be patched
to a jdk1.8.. (by doing this, you can also get javac to run on your palm
5mx)...
I have not yet tried to use the serial port from java.. since java does
not have the api to do this, you will have to create a native library in c
for this, and then interface that from java.. but that should not be a
problem either...
both th java and c developer kit's can be downloaded through symbian.com
