Hello,

When I do a uname command, I get CYGWIN_98-4.10. It definitely appears
that makefile.common has some problems with paths, etc.
      When I type the command: strip fontdesign.exe dll.exe makelx.exe
fixdeps.exe genlds.exe firmdl3.exe as I mentioned before, the $ prompt comes
back with nothing printed on the screen including no errors. I didn't use
make in from of the strip command. Evidently this is o.k. When I typed
./firmdl3 ../boot/legOS.srec from the legos-0.2.6 util directory, I come up
with the following error: /dev/ttyd2: No such file or directory. I thought
this might have something to do with the fact that I have a usb tower, so I
typed the following command: ./firmdl3 --tty=usb ../boot/legos.srec with the
following error: usb: No such file or directory. What might be going on
here? I am really close, I suspect, and I don't want to give up just yet.
The thought of starting over again does start to sound pretty good, however
I'd like to get this working after all the time I have spent on it and then
I may go back and do a cleaner install. This is helping me to learn lots of
good stuff. If I start over at some point, I am assuming you just wipe out
or delete everything in the Cygwin directory, and start over. Is this
correct: Also, do you have to mess with deleting stuff from the registry
regarding the Cygwin installation? I really don't want to go in there,
because I am not familiar with that territory at all. Thanks again for all
of your help !!!!!!!
