I think remote control can be divided two parts:
1. defatk mode, if you user doesn't provide remote handler, the default
hanlder will be called, key M1-M3 send standard message 1-3, A1-C1/A2-C2
increase/decrease 1 outport port a-c, P1-P5 run program 1-5 (change program
0-7 to 1-8), key STOP stops current program and BEEP makes beep sound, all
similar in standard firmware.
2. user mode, when user provide a remote handler, all key events will be
processed by user's handler.

What do you think about these suggestion?

I think you should modify that patch as

Or it can't work correctly!

Hi all.

I've uploaded Chris Aquila's remote control patch to Sourceforge. I've included
a README, and a user-space module to make using it a bit easier. Just look
under the patches section in the legOS project.
