I have recently built binutils+gcc for the latest cygwin net release. I am
investigating the possibility of posting them on the net, but I would like
to decrease the file size as much as possible. I have already done
'strip -s' on the .exes, but I believe several files may be redundant.
Please can people comment on whether the sets of files listed below are
needed.
Thanks,
Max.
1) include/ansidecl.h
include/bfd.h
include/bfdlink.h
bfd = binary file descriptor - useless to use, yes?
ansidecl could conceivably be wanted by someone.
2) lib/libbfd.a
lib/libbfd.la
lib/libiberty.a
lib/libopcodes.a
lib/libopcodes.la
I believe these are host libraries, only used for compiling binutils+gcc. Am
I correct?
3) lib/gcc-lib/h8300-hms/2.95.3-5/libgcc.a
lib/gcc-lib/h8300-hms/2.95.3-5/h8300h/libgcc.a
lib/gcc-lib/h8300-hms/2.95.3-5/h8300h/int32/libgcc.a
lib/gcc-lib/h8300-hms/2.95.3-5/h8300s/libgcc.a
lib/gcc-lib/h8300-hms/2.95.3-5/h8300s/int32/libgcc.a
Five copies of libgcc.a ! Can some h8300 guru tell be which one(s) are
really needed, please.
4) lib/gcc-lib/h8300-hms/2.95.3-5/SYSCALLS.c.X
Is this used, or only informational?
5) h8300-hms/bin/*.exe
Are these just duplicates of bin/h8300-hms-*.exe ?
6) h8300-hms/include/assert.h
What is this for?
7) h8300-hms/lib/ldscripts/*
Does genlds make legOS specific versions?
You see, I am stuck on the end of a 24K modem connection, so I am keen to
trim off the excess!
