If you need something that works well (I think that almost only on Linux) and
your are familiar to Wordstar keys (^KX, ^KD ....)(AKA as TurboC, Pascal...)

4what its worth:
My fave is Gvim, vi with a gui and improvements. Shareware, can build or
download ports to many platforms, incl *nix,Wintel OS.2 and many more. I used
the gui to learn vi commaneds, and it gives you cosistent interface on many
platforms. Smart, runs int erminal if no gui, does syntax colouring too - great
for debugging shell scripts etc.
