Re: Non Robot uses of the RCX

Hi, I just remembered that just pressing the "respond" button doesn't work with this list, because you also have to change the address, so sorry Frank, you read the following already... OK, now for the message: I used it to generate a Minimum (...) (24 years ago, 21-Aug-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Non Robot uses of the RCX

I calculated the acceleration of gravity once with a light sensor, touch sensor (for timing purposes), a ruler, and ROBOLAB 2. It didn't involve a whole lot of data so it didn't make it into the Sample Projects of ROBOLAB Investigator, but some (...) (24 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

(...) snip... (...) ...snip Frank, ROBOLAB provides some great datalogging possibilities, complete with calculation and charting capability. But then, you have to buy the sensors, offered through Pitsco LEGO Dacta and elsewhere. For example, with (...) (24 years ago, 20-Aug-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Non Robot uses of the RCX

Hello, Over in k12.ed.science a poster wanted to perform an experiment where he would time how long it took various objects to fall when dropped inside a long tube. He was looking for information regarding timing circuits, how to build one, where to (...) (24 years ago, 19-Aug-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

VLL macro blocks for RIS 2.0

(URL) is a RIS 2.0 save file (you'll need to right-click and save it) that is a set of macro blocks to do VLL. After you open it, drag the big stack on the right into your My Blocks bin. It's hard-coded for port B, but is easily changed. I've been (...) (24 years ago, 19-Aug-01, to lugnet.robotics.microscout, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  ROM of RCX 2.0?

Hi, has anybody taken a look at the ROM of the RCX 2.0? Are there any significant changes? I'm looking in particular for changes in addresses of routines or data areas that could lead to interoperability problems. Jürgen (24 years ago, 16-Aug-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  (MS)2 Expander Web Site Updated

I've updated my website with some changes to the building instructions for the (MS)2 Expander that might make it easier to build.   Re: As promised - Mecha using RCX with MacNQC - Draft 1.

I think you're off to a good start! You mention some problems that I think can be overcome, others I'm not sure about... but I'll offer my two cents anyway...   Re: As promised - Mecha using RCX with MacNQC - Draft 1.

(...) I like the design, but as with most RCX-based walkers, it looks, well, 'clunky'. I realize this can't be helped considering the nature of what it is you are working with. I, too, have been working on a walker of this nature and have met with (...) (24 years ago, 11-Aug-01, to lugnet.build.mecha, lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

As promised - Mecha using RCX with MacNQC - Draft 1.

Hi, well some weeks ago I promised that I'd begin a project of developing a Mech incorporating the RCX unit, some motors and sensors. Here is my very first attempt at a minifig scale Mech: (URL) RCX is programmed using MacNQC and at this stage only (...)   RCX 2.0 Difference

I have got both an RCX1.0 and RCX2.0 unit. The RCX2.0 has a much less sensitive IR port. I would use the remote control to send messages and start and stop programs and to trigger motors. With the RCX1.0 the remote could be pointed at the unit and (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Rechargeable Batteries

(...) Roger, I believe the low voltage is more important. A side issue is the battery indicator that you access through NQC (or Robolab) set up in a scale of 0-9 volts. Fully charged alkalines are 9+ and discharged ones are 6 volts. With NiMH full (...) (24 years ago, 6-Aug-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
