Is it safe to say that LEGO will not be creating a 64bit driver for the USB Tower? Is there anyone here that could? What would it take? It would be really nice to have one before LEGO completely drops support for the RCX system. (18 years ago, 16-Jan-09, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

This system is used 4 RCXs to control 2 trains, 1 car and 1 level crossing. RCX1 is used to control 3 switch points and response 3 light sensors. RCX2 is used to control 3 segments track and response 2 light sensors. RCX3 is used to control level (...) (18 years ago, 6-Sep-08, to lugnet.announce.moc, lugnet.trains, lugnet.robotics.rcx.legos) !

I recently dug my old MindStorms sets out of storage after about five years of inactivity. Naturally the RCXes (I have three) all needed to have their firmware re-installed.
