Fiber Optics System controlling multiple motors

You can build a Technic mechanical and optical system to control Mindstorms Scouts and Micro Scouts. The lights and optic cables from the FOS (Fiber Optic System) rotary LED assembly can provide the light sources and channels to the light sensors on (...)   Remote Control of 3 motors with Scout & Micro Scout

You can remotely control each of 3 motors in both directions with a Scout and a Micro Scout. You need these parts: 1) Mindstorms Remote Control, 2) Mindstorms Scout, 3) Mindstorms Micro Scout, 4) 2 motors, 5) Lego Fiber Optic Cable (optional). You (...)   fiber optics conduit to light sensors

You can make a sturdy fiber optic cable conduit from Lego tubes and connectors. It can completely enclose at least two Lego fiber optic cables joined end-to-end from a light source to a light sensor. The conduit can shield a light sensor from (...) (24 years ago, 26-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics.scout, lugnet.robotics.microscout, lugnet.robotics.vll)

  Mindstorms without PC

Technic fun with the Mindstorms programmable bricks that do not require a PC: the Scout and the Micro Scout. They run built-in programs controlled mainly by sensor input. Their sets also include many newer Technic parts. The Micro Scout comes in 2 (...) (24 years ago, 13-Jan-01, to lugnet.technic, lugnet.robotics.microscout, lugnet.robotics.scout)

  Re: Scout & PocketPC

(...) There is a Windows CE Program called Sky commander that provides IR functionalities. The program allows you to custom design a remote controller using bitmap files and then use learning functions for the buttons. I have successfully used it to (...)   Scout & PocketPC

I have heard that there are ways to control your Scout or Micro Scout using a PalmOS device. Has anyone managed to get a PocketPC to do the same? (24 years ago, 22-Dec-00, to lugnet.robotics.scout, lugnet.robotics.microscout)

  Re: Confused? Scout or microscout

Although it is better to control Micro-scout by Scout, but you also can use RCX to control it, you need a fiber optic cable to connect RCX/Scout with micro-scout (by light sensor in RCX case, or use light on scout) , or you can use small tube to (...)   Confused? Scout or microscout

I am confused, whats the difference between the Scout and the Microscout? I am interested in the Dark Side developer kit which has a microscout (I fancy making the ATAT). I alreayd have a RCX and was wondering if the Microscout be used, controlled, (...) (24 years ago, 14-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.microscout)

Re: Can't wait for the official Mindstorms ATAT ???

As the page is in Japanese, did you saw there is a movie : (URL) ? It is 'just' the ATAT walking by itself... Anyone started to build one with your lego parts ? Something difficult actually, no ?   Can't wait for the official Mindstorms ATAT ???

So, look at (URL) has made an ATAT with the Microscout ! Sad that there is no picture for the mechanic inside :-( Can someone translate the page in English ? Gonna to try to do the same, and after with the RCX... Christophe (25 years ago, 10-Mar-00, to lugnet.robotics.microscout, lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Control six Micro Scouts with a fiber optic module?

I had this really sick idea last night, and I thought I'd throw it out for discussion. In theory, you could control up to six Micro Scouts or Code Pilots using two motor outputs and one sensor input. Each of the six fiber optic cables from the fiber (...) (25 years ago, 24-Feb-00, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.robotics.microscout, lugnet.robotics.codepilot)

  Microscout, VLL and Rock Stupid

Ok, I bought the DDK before I knew what was up.
