Well, I have mine hooked to a 12-channel GPS unit (the kind that has a DB-9
connector and a Cigarette lighter adapter for power, and no user interface
at all). It is parsing the NMEA (ASCII) strings, and displaying pertinent
info on the HandyBoard display. I have four different displays I can get to
by turning the pot. All written in Interactive C, but will probably re-code
it in assembly at a later date to get a faster update rate. It has been
difficult to get it to process the data much without losing some of the
4800 Baud characters.
Pretty weird use for a robot controller, but it works well.
