A few minutes ago, my curiosity got the better of me about this, so I
did a quick scout about on the web and found this:  http://www.pei2000.com/.

Although I'm not trying to endorse this company in particular, I'm
mentioning it here as an example of what I was referring to in my last
post.  The thing that really grabbed my attention on this particular
site was the section about how much it costs....  Under $1000 for the
first prototype, which is far less than typical injection moulding setup
costs!

I was only speculating before about the possibility of contracting a
company for a custom plastic enclosure, but now having actually seen for
sure that there are real companies that will do this sort of thing, are
costs still the significant factor?

Oh, btw... not that I expect that it matters at this point, but my vote
would be for a clear case.  :)
