Hi Jan,
I can not help with this specific device, but are you sure the device works
like this? Can different outputs be measured, depending if there is white or
black in front of it? Here I mean: measured with a voltmeter when pin 3 is
not connected to the HB.
Also, to what digital input did you wire the device? Are you sure the HB is
not having a pull-up resistor tied to it? Have a look at
http://www.acroname.com/robotics/info/examples/GP2D12-1/GP2D12-1.html where
Acroname descibes how to disable the pull-up resistor on one of the analog
inputs. Will be simmilar for the digital inputs.
