| How would I go about making the digital outputs capable of controlling a higher current than the 5 ma that is standard? Can a switching transistor be controlled by them? Or do I need some sort of IC to do the job? Particularly I would like to be (...) (25 years ago, 25-May-00, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

| You can use solid state relays with 5 VDC inputs and DC outputs to control large loads. The inputs require very little current. It is less expensive to build transistor switches, which will do the same thing, but obviously much simpler to use (...) (25 years ago, 25-May-00, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
