did you try reloading the operating program, pcode_hb.s19?   use hbdl
on windows or 6811 downloader mcl on macintosh.

this program (pcode_hb.s19) must be resident on the HB at all times.
it sounds like for whatever reason it got corrupted.  this isn't
anything to worry about, just reload.
