It means you've made a syntax error which the compiler is unable to
interpret.  The compiler "parses" or scans your source code and turns it
into digital form executable by your computer.  Omitting a comma,
bracket, or paranthesis are some of the more common syntactical errors
that can "choke" the compiler.
