I believe it would matter what type of material you reflect the pulse off of, I would guess. Different surfaces have differenc acoustical properties. Just like they have those silent rooms and echo chambers, etc.

I turned the gain up a bit, which keeps those erratic measurements from (...) (29 years ago, 14-May-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
