Oh yeah, I meant to send an e-mail:

"There are new drivers and a wiring diagram for using the Polaroid
6500 sonar ranging module with the Handy Board!!  Just visit the HB
home page:

  http://lcs.www.media.mit.edu/groups/el/projects/handy-board/

Enjoy.  -Fred"

That said, the answer to this question is simply, get rid of the
6-long diode chain and connect the Polaroid's power source directly to
your motor battery.

Fred

We're planning to use the new Polaroid 6500 stuff on the Handyboard web
page. We intend to use a six volt power source to drive our motors
independently of the power source to the Handyboard itself (by cutting
the appropriate trace on the board). How must we modify the setup shown
in the schematic to make it work with our setup?

Thanks for your help.
