Hello to all Robo-maniacs!!!
I was just wanted to make sure some thoughts about the Handyboard.
1 Can you connect it with a PC and after you make a programm in C,
load it in the handyboard (and after disconnection can you apply
the program on your mobile robot via the handyboard, without
need the PC)?
2 Can you drive dc motors with the Handyboard without any extra
card ?
3 Can you adjust the speeed and the direction of the motors
electronically via the card ?
4 Can you dive servos or stepper motors through Handyboard (I guess
you need an extra board)? If not what do you need?
5 How could I drive a mobile robot to a sound source? I mean let's
say that I have a device wich produces ultra sonic sound in a
corner of a room. Is it possible to make the robot detect the
place and the direction of the sound and move towards there ?
6 Give me some examples of Handyboard, on Robotics or Automations
applications in order to understand its abilities (I mean I 'd
like to order such a basic device for RobotiX experimentation but
I just want to be sure that this suits my expectations).
Try to answer to some, at least, of my questions :-)
ThanX

| (...) Yes. (...) Yes, if the motors draw less than 1Amp of current when stalled. (...) Yes. (...) You can drive bipolar stepper motors using the on board h-bridges. (...) Yes. The typical way to do this would be to attach your directional detector (...) (27 years ago, 17-Nov-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
