Initially, I was not able to get the board to config at 0x0c. I got this to
work by using DL and some of its command line options. Once I got this to
work and set config at 0x0c, then HBDL worked just fine.
My new problem is that I can not get the HB to bootup. I tried it a few
times without the LCD while I was waiting for the male header strips. I
know that it IC will not work without the LCD. The download process worked.
I powered the board off then on and the speaker made a beep. This is what
should happen. Now that I have the LCD ready and have continued
construction by installing some of the sockets, I tried again. The download
process works well. The first row of characters on the LCD is dimly lit.
When I power cycle the board the green light comes on, but the LCD remains
unchanged and the speaker does not make a sound. Eventually, the yellow
charge light on the I/C will come on. All my chips are in correctly. All
the solder joints are ok. Could I have damaged something by running it
without the LCD? Could the problem be the empty IC sockets. I thought that
it would be ok to install the sockets if I did not but anything in them.
My plan at this point is to continue with the construction and hope that it
starts to work again. I fear by doing this, I will make it harder to find
my problem if it does not resolve itself.
Does anyone have a suggestion?

| One other thing. When I try to load IC, it never syncs with the HB. I am fairly certain that I have IC configured correctly.
