Hi there,
last week I've got my HB up and running and it works very fine. I've been
playing around with it IC and some questions came up. I hope they are not
too boring:
- I don't know exactly in which manner sleep() works. It looks like being
a mix of busy-waiting and waiting for a signal of 'the timer-device'.
A new process is created (msleep) which seems to wait for a signal
(i.e. an interrupt), but on the other hand side the heartbeat goes much
slower than in idle state. How does it really work?
- Is there a way to do things like cursor-backspace or explicit cursor-
placement? I found no way doing it with printf().
On LCDs it doesn't look very nice reprinting all contents of the display
in case of changing one lonley character. The flickering is ugly.
Has anybody coded a function supporting this?
- I have a display with 2 x 32 chars connected to the HB an it looks a
bit curious that only the left hand side is used. Can I, and if yes,
where must I change some values to tell IC about the bigger display?
BTW: I work with IC 2.850 (Solaris) and 2.81 on the board.
PS: It was a pleasure to order two blank boards at Prabal Dutta. E-Mail
response within a few minutes, very easy ordering an quick delivery.
