(...) I don't know if this is really the best way to do it, but I hacked this up real quick for a previous project. You put the stuff you want to time inside the loop. How do you time a running process? I would like to prune the running time of a part of my IC program running in the HandyBoard, to improve the response of my sensor testing. Is it possible to program the HandyBoard in 'Forth'? If so how does one go about it? I assume the compiled Forth program must be further converted into a PCode. Thanks to all the extremely useful information everyone was able to provide me, I have been able to fix my COM port problem. I changed some CMOS settings, moved the internal modem's IRQ to 10, and configured the new port as COM2, with a new IRQ. (...) (28 years ago, 24-Apr-96, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
