  Re: memory

I believe reliable operation of the VR used in the HB is about 7 V. Is this correct, Fred? (...) (28 years ago, 10-Feb-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  empty addresses

where's some good addresses to store three bytes of info? everywhere i put it seems to crash the system.... thanks, -md (28 years ago, 10-Feb-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  RE: I agree-

(...) I agree. I could use a few more outputs, and a serial port or two. Having a synchronous serial port would be too good to be true, but I can do most of what I need with just one more async port over what the Handyboard currently has. Haven't (...)   RE: I agree-

(...) I both agree and disagree with this sentiment. One of the reasons I would like to have six servo outputs, is that I've got a Lynxmotion arm that I want to control. The arm comes with a Scott Edwards serial servo controller. The problem is that (...) (28 years ago, 10-Feb-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re: expansion board schematic posted

Hi Fred The "new" spec sound's great ! I'd also like to see a bit more digital I/O on any expansion board, and the extra 8 CMOS outputs are just what I (we) need. Thanks Scott (...) Martin'" <fredm@media.mit.edu> (...) (28 years ago, 10-Feb-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  L293D Piggybacking

My question is, can I piggyback the L293D's and what will this increase my max current output to? I am going to just one motor from port 0 and the other from port 3 so as possibly eleminate smoking any more 293's. What do you think? Bill Rose Fort (...)   Not enough Servo ports on Expansion board

Hello, Iwould suggest increasing the available servo ports on this. Servos are widely available, getting cheaper, and compact for robotics. This could have been facilitated on the original Handy board, but nevermind. I'm already using my method on (...) (28 years ago, 9-Feb-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
