  Dreaming of a European Legofest

The great experience of meeting in person other Lego enthusiasts at the MindFest and at some Italian Legofests, makes me dream of a European Legofest. Some remarks about this topic (talking freely): - Saying "European" I use the term in its (...)   Mindstorms on Spielefest (AT)

Hi there! Anyone who will visit Spielefest ( homepage: www.spielefest.at in german language only) will have the possibility to see the Lego-robot "Mindstorms" (singular!!!! one robot) - as it is mentioned in the local press (if it appears there) and (...)   Re: Three Cheers

(...) There is a movie (a comedy) that came out in recent years called "What about Bob" staring Bill Murray and Richard Dreyfuss about a neurotic man following his new Psychiatrist on vacation ..... and in that movie Bill Murray followed the advice (...) (...) The purpose of my post wasn't to try to convince people to be less cynical; I've never met a cynic who became uncynical overnight by direct persuasion or by happytalk. The purpose of my post is to draw wide attention to something positive (...) (26 years ago, 7-Nov-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.robotics.events)

(...) I could be wrong, but I would expect that trying to put motors in the knees might cause a lot of unsightly bulk there that might ruin the whole effect. I had been thinking that this might be a good application for some sort of remote linkage (...) (26 years ago, 3-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.events)

Re: Official LEGO site has MindFest pics

(...) Some friends and I have been discussing that on and off, to the level of watching the movie to make sketches of leg motion. We have sort of assumed that you'd have to pack the storage in the center with 2 or 3 RCX's. You'd also have to lose (...) (26 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.events)

Re: Official LEGO site has MindFest pics

(...) Actually, a more likely reason is that we are looking at the LEGO Mindstorms web site. No RCX --> no "Mindstorms" --> no picture. We really should collaborate on how to mechanize one of those AT-AT's! (26 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.events)

Re: Official LEGO site has MindFest pics

(...) Ironically, they originally did spell out "The New England LEGO Users' Group" under Henry's picture. It seems that when they added "NELUG" to my captions, they also acronym-ized his caption. (They're almost _too_ responsive!) My theory as to (...) (26 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.events)

Re: Official LEGO site has MindFest pics

(...) I wouldn't be embarased none of the non-robotics stuff made it. Which is of no supprise seeing that was the main theme of the event. I think most of the stuff other than Henry's call at the NELUG table would be considered Modeling or Art and (...) (26 years ago, 2-Nov-99, to lugnet.robotics.events)
