If anyone is interested, it is possible to use the MindSensors separately
powered SHarp GPD12 IR range finders on the CyberMaster.
These range finders require a motor port to power them, and also connect to
sensor port. Connecting them to the external motor port on the CyberMaster and
to one of the sensor ports gives accurate readings from about 16-50 cm.
They power up fairly quickly so there's not too much power usage. I currently
have two running in tandem on my CyberMaster, looking left and right. I can
then make reasonable "images" of what the robot passes.
If anyone wants more info then please let me know.
(Personally, I quite like having a range-finder-enabled robot that uses radio
for it's comms so stays in contact with my PC...)
