Hi Bas,
The hand does not yet grasp. To make it grasp, add a thumb (built just like
the fingers) and run a cable from the thumb to the same motor that runs the
fingers. The hand/arm on the web site is just a prototype, and the time I
allocated to the prototype ran out before I got to grasping functionality. My
true goal is to create as lifelike a hand as possible. This would include the
ability to wave, to grasp, to point, to push, and so on. If you build the
prototype and play with it, I believe you'll see it has the building blocks to
become a lifelike hand and arm. All I need is lots of motors to power all that
functionality.
David Leeper (thanks Dirk-Willem for lots of motors)
