There's not much to put in this one, but there is
something:
I've been putting off doing much real work on Spectre
lately, but I do have most of send.c factored. I'll be
posting it along with a beta-quality Seance spec
tonight or tomorrow, depending on how well I get it
cleaned up. It has not been built yet, and there will
be no makefile.
The Seance version of send.c is still Unix-specific,
hideously so. At this point, I'd like to reiterate
that until there is an actual Seance library running,
multiplatform support is not a priority; I'll worry
about it once Spectre itself gets underway.
What I need from the list is the following:
-Commentary on the spec
-an explanation of the se_rcxsend function (Kekoa's
comments are too meager for me to make much sense of
the code :-( )
The files (one tarball and a text file) will be
attachments to my next message. As far as I'm
concerned, Kekoa still holds the copyright on the
code, since it's not drastically altered from what he
wrote originally; I would ask of anyone who decides to
rewrite Seance on another platform to release the code
under MPL.
/Brian

| (...) Ummm, the code IS the comments. Doesn't everyone do it that way? Seriously, I've worked on too many systems where the comments don't reflect the code. Read the comments if there are any, but NEVER assume they are correct. Cheers, Ralph Hempel (...) (25 years ago, 17-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)
