Interesting. I just ordered a spare RCX, from an educational supplier in the
UK, and was happy it had the port, but considered myself lucky. It would make
a lot of sense, but also makes the decision to remove it on the 'retail'
versions look all the more strange. Personally I think if there was a
reliability problem, they should have been able to improve the circuit in this
area failry simply.
