    Polaroid sensors —David Paule
   Has anyone used the Polaroid ultrasonic sensor kit, as sold by www.robotstore.com? It seems capable, although expensive, with two sensors for about $150.    Hi Dave, The Polaroid 6500 Sonar is a good ranging device, however InfraRed ranging *may* be better in many applications. You can buy the Polaroid gadgets from Acroname (as well as IR ranging devices) at a better price than from the RobotStore. (...) (25 years ago, 2-Dec-99, to lugnet.robotics)

   I looked at the IR systems, and it looks like the would work very well for anything up to 3 feet. I think it ought to be easy to connect the sensor leads to an analog or digital interface(I don't know, maybe a more electronics literate person will (...)
