What can it do & Is it worth getting ...
It all depends on you.
If you are familiar with the Lego / Technics stuff already, use motors with
it - now you can automate them.
If you like / want to make mechanical things - this is and ideal set
I bought one a year ago - for my kids, so I could play with it, and it seems
to be the lowest cost entry into the
world of robotics - which builds on all our existing Lego.
I was teaching them Logo programming, and they were getting bored because it
just worked on the screen.
They said that it was sort of fun, but it was too much like school.
This set took the programming off the screen and into the 3d world.
It is a great parent / kid project set - getting both your heads & time
together
It makes a great toy, and for school projects it adds a whole new dimension
- like a lift bridge that raises when a boat comes close, and lowers when it
is past
- a gizmo that beeps when it gets dark enough to trigger it (helped in
recording sundown times for a project)
- a 'mindful/mindless' car that just drives around the house turning when it
bumps into things ...
